Description

Contini , BARRILE Rosso Isola del Nuraghi IGT 2013 14% 0.75L*6

Contini

Founded in 1898 by Salvatore Contini, the winery is one of the pillars of Sardinian

viticulture. For 120 years, Contini has been promoting traditional Sardinian wine,

specializing in native grape varieties while constantly experimenting and pushing

the boundaries of local viticulture. Vernaccia is definitely the winery's most important

grape, and their legendary "Antico Gregori" Vernaccia di Oristano, Italy's only

"Sherry-style” dessert wine, is always ranked among the best.

In recent years, Contini has also spent a lot of effort in revitalizing an ancient

Sardinian red grape, Nieddera, which has received international recognition in the

award-winning Barrile wine.

Barrile 2013

Barrile is the result of years of research on native Sardinian

grapes, mainly Nieddera; it takes its name from the small barrel

that contained the bride's family's best wine, usually offered

during weddings. Elegant and powerful, with great balance

between ripe red fruits and oak flavours.
