Braida

 

Barbera - a humble grape with high acidity consumed by farmers that cannot

produce long-lived fine wines; this is what Barbera was before Braida.

 

1961 – enter Giacomo Bologna; the now legendary owner of Braida winery believed

in Barbera's potential so much that he applied the same approach as some of the

world's greatest wines to this lowly grape; grapes picked at the perfect maturation

level, longer extraction, French oak barrels - Bricco dell'Uccellone was born to show

the entire world that Barbera had a place among the world's greatest wines. Today

Braida is one of Italy's most iconic wineries, a global ambassador of Piedmontese

excellence.
